To the city we will go...
Will be moving about a lot this weekend... starting from this evening.. after work, Sharon and I are heading to Rochester.. since we - Peter included are catching a flight from Rochester to JFK at 6:00 a.m.
Sharon is meeting up with Cindy who's in Jersey and as for Pete and myself... gonna be spending the entire Friday roaming the streets of Manhattan. Gonna meet up with Eric (if he gets out for lunch - if not after his work). His work place is close to the fashion district... what ever it is... Peter and I will be around downtown Manhattan. Will be treating Peter to a Frrozen Hot Chocolate at Serendipity 3's - he has a real soft spot for ice cream! Got to dash now - got to head home now to pack... will update when I get the chance or when I get back! Outie!!

Ayu's day...
It's Ayu's birthday today.... and it's not that I have no intention of posting her picture here... I am afraid that she might yell at me for posting a picture that she does not approve of!! Anyways...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday dear Ayu...
Happy Birthday to you!~!
Wishing you happiness, joyous celebration and can't wait to see you this weekend!!
Berries galore...
Do we have enough strawberries?? Seeing that it was the first summer weekend.. the weather did not let us down by indicating that it sure was summer. The temperatures rose to the 90s... it was getting really hot... with five strawberry pickers, I sure was glad we were done picking out loot in less than 30 minutes!
At the Strawberry fields...
Here's dear me.... taking a break to pose for a picture moment while Sharon and Nancy are busy pickin' away...
This is almost a yearly activity for us... heading to Growmore's Strawberry Farm. I mentioned almost yearly because I missed out on last year since I was back home in Penang. Round two of more picking at Growmore's anyone??
Thanks Pete!
Even though I had left my camera at Pete's, he was able to transfer the pictures I took over the weekend and have them sent to me. Thank you dearie for doing that... like the picture that we took? So, here are the pictures as promised of us and from strawberry picking! Miss you lots..

Weekend activities...
A strawberry picking we will go... a strawberry picking we will go... hey ho a strawberry pickin' we will go! And so we did....
We picked about 12 quarts of strawberries.. it didn't take us long... the girls, Nancy, Peter and myself... what a great way to start the first summer weekend off by gathering juicy delicious strawberries... this calls for an afternoon and evening and for the most part.. the entire weekend to be filled with strawberry daiquiries, strawberry milkshakes, strawberry shortcakes, etc!
Made some really tasty daiquiries which we brought over to the Carlson's (Pete's neigbor across the street) graduation party. The graduate is Jon, who's graduating from high school and will be joining his sister, Lauren at Fredonia State Unviersity - that's Nancy's college alma mater. The entire weekend was pretty much filled with plenty of feasting, drinking and strawberries to go around... the weather was way up in the 90s and so it goes.. summer is definitely here to stay.
Was hoping to post a bunch of pictures from strawberry picking but silly old me left the camera back at Pete's. Will definitely post some this Thursday when Sharon and I are heading back to Rochester. Sharon, Pete and I leave for NYC this Friday morning for a holiday weeked away in the city. Sharon is meeting up with a dear friend from home whose family migrated to NJ and as for Peter and myself.. also meeting up with friends and celebrating Claire's birthday one week late. Just got news that Ayu will also be joining us.. so another great get together/birthday celebration for the girls.
Shoutouts to - Jerry and Andrea.. can't wait to see you guys again... Eric, hoping to at least catch up with you to say hi, Seneca... are you gonna be in the city that weekend? Paul.. maybe we can meet up? Can't wait to see you guys...
Claire's bday...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to you...

Exactly this time last year, I was back at home in Penang... loving every minute of being around family, friends and good old Penang food!! This reminds me... I must wish a big thank you to Chan Lilian of PenangFaces whose blog entries have made me feel like being back at home through her beautiful postings of pictures of all things wonderful and amazing of Penang.

Lazy Sunday...
Sleeping in has to be the best thing ever ... especially on a lazy Sunday!! I didn't get to bed till almost 2am last night/morning... stayed up to watch Ocean's Twelve.
Next best thing waking up to... lying all spread out in bed staring up at my egg shell colored ceiling while trying to wake my toes up by wiggling them under my comforter. Don't you just love moving about under your comforter in the morning... that smooth and semi-toasty feeling it has against your bare legs from the slept-in warmth accumulated? I spread my arms out and brought them up and down to my sides mimicking a snow angel making session... my little attempt in some sort of morning stretching/exercise. A gOOd morning to myself!~!
As I was still lying in bed, Sharon who was already up and about passed me the phone... it was mom and dad!! They were both driving back from Tanjung Bungah from Holiday Inn - dropped a friend off at the hotel. Anyways, we talked a bit... checking up on each other and trying to plan on Sharon & me heading back home to Penang. We're looking at Christmas break... but it all depends on Sharon's work schedule and well... mine too.
When I finally got out of bed... it was getting to get ready to head out to Galleria Mall... Sharon and I both had things to return and exchange.. so that's what we did. Caught a movie there... the Perfect Man starring Heather Locklear and Hillary Duff - bottomline, major chick flick!! Upon getting home, did some chores around the house... laundry, tidying up, cleaning, etc. It was a nice feeling to know that I got a lot of things accomplished around the house. That sense of fulfillment - that everything is clean and is at its own place. Geez... I sounded a wee bit obsessive compulsive there!! Aiyaiyas... but seriously.. when things around you look right... you know and you will see things in a clear perspective. There me go again... rambling on!
Got a surprise for you musical lovers out there... if you don't already know what's coming to the theatres this coming November! Will keep you in a suspense for now... till my next blog about the surprise... ciao!
Dads' Day...
Happy Father's Day!~!~
To my dearest Daddy... have a wonderful day... with the time difference.. I am 12 hours late.. but Happy father's day anyways and hope that you had a great relaxing weekend. Just spoke with you over the phone... so that kind of makes up for it :D
And not forgetting Mario.. Happy Father's Day to you too!~A big great HUG to *David Copperfield (Mario & Sher's weird name game!) We are going strawberry picking next week right? Let's see who picks more... and the winner by a landslide... always (!!) in the Deviled Eggs making contest is... ME!! :P
Love you two lots.. from the girls.... Sharon & Sherene

another night at the movies...
Got back from Rochester, unpacked, put things away and watered the plants... off I go out again to meet up with Kozy to see Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Sharon & Chele were out with Lori at the Allentown Art Festival downtown.
I've never been that crazy over Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie.. but I did like the movie.. interesting enough... and I am sure Peter would be smiling BIG reading this.... throughout the entire movie... all I could think about was HIM!~ Why? Well.. Brad Pitt had his hair short-short to a somewhat buzz... the way I always want Peter's hair cut... SHORT!~ Pitt looks soo much like Peter (and not the other way round ;P) that I could not help but imagine it was my cutie on screen... well, minus the whole Mrs. Smith chracter that is. LOL!~ Silly Sher daydreaming again....
Weekend with Petey...
Still in Rochester right now... but quick update for all....
Friday evening... spent time just hanging out with Peter, Hye Yon and Tracy playing DDR and stuffing our face with pizzas.
Saturday morning... all four of us went to the Farmer's Market in downtown Rochester with Weez (one of Peter's really cool professor). Hye Yon recommended a quick bite to eat at the empanadas store.. where everyone had breakfast empanadas except moi.. what did I get? Seafood Empanadas and it was delicious!! Went around the market, got some blackberries, cherries and green veges... got some really good brie from this cheese store that Weez frequents.. so major plus for me in the food section!!
Peter made reservations for dinner at 6p.m. and so, later in the evening... Peter and I went to Tasting's (located at one of the biggest Wegman's that I have ever been to) for dinner. We ordered a 5 course and 3 course dinner set and with my big appetite... I really did wish for more!! I was very proud of Peter... he finished his plate of Shellfish Ceviche with avocado, cucumber, bell peppers and a sweet chili and orange vinaigrette. For someone not too big on seafood, he sure enjoyed his appetizer. If you're curios at what else we both had... check out the dinner menu at Tasting's!! click here for menu... before they change it!
After dinner, we rushed to Regal to catch Monster in Law...not too big of a J.Lo fan but hey.. Wanda Sykes and cutey Michael Vartan was on!~ It was a nice movie to enjoy - humor is always good to have. Major big plus... my lovie Petey was there with me... we had a nice evening just being with each other!~

Renee in the city...
Renee was in NYC over the weekend for a conference of some sort (one of them Rhode scholars convention, me thinks!)... anyways, I am sure she had a blast of a time as seen from her fotopages webbie. Here's a picture of her with a view of Manhattan. Renee took a number for beautiful and interesting pictures that she must show and tell me one of these days. From pictures of her in the Great Apple to famous dignitaries and celebreties... Kofi Annan, Naomi Judd, George 'Star Wars' Lucas, Madam President of Latvia, Desmond Tutu - to name a few. Thought you were gonna come visit me here Renee... what happened? Hope you had a safe flight back and keep me posted!! :)

updates from Home...
Lynn May updated me and her readers on her blog that our beloved country had came up with one heck of an "opening" for movie goers...
Cinema goers are usually treated to trailers of coming attractions and beer advertisements before the start of a movie. But don’t drop the popcorn in surprise when you hear the national anthem being played soon. Click on the link to her blog to read more about it!!

Sher & Minah...
Waking up this morning, still in bed, I looked around my room and noticed this lovely framed picture of me and Minah. Thinking out loud, it's been exactly five years now (to the month) since I've met and known Minah and I missed her terribly!~!~ Through those 6-7 weeks in Manoa, we had grown very close and was at each other's side every moment. From the surfing lessons, hula dancing classes, snorkeling, body surfing, flirting, dancing, racing to catch the bus to Ala Moana, Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, Flea market or to every other corner on Oahu, slathering aloe vera on Minah's back - sunburnt from surf lessons, laundry on the rooftop of our circular tower dorm in Hale Lokelani, island hopping to the Big Island and the more than once birthday celebration for Minah!~! Are we going to really meet at the half way point of Georgia and New York? You're birthday is around the corner.. what are the plans?! I miss you girl!!~

Nite out with the boys...
I got a surprised call yesterday afternoon at work, it was Zack and he was back in town from DC. We planned to meet up later in the day and so we did. I went over to Trevor and Paul's to meet up with Zack and to hang out for a bit. Trevor's girlfriend Jenn joined us later as we head to this dive of a place off Sweethome called Beer & Keg. How do I know these guys? Well, Trevor and Zack used to live right below my apartment back in Flint and we would run up and down to borrow stuff, hang out or just annoy the heck off each other. Don't you guys agree?? :P
mismatch
Channel WB had this on last night and what a laugh it was to watch. Reality TV at its best?? Not quite.. but it sure was amusing. To see if you may or may not be interested in seeing it.. here's a snippet from the WB website...
* * *
It all starts with seven women who are academically impaired. Next, add seven men who are brilliant but socially challenged. The concept is to pair up couples for a chance to win a $250,000 grand prize. Each mismatched pair competes in various activities designed to test intellect, fashion savvy and even dance moves. There's a spelling bee for the girls, massage lessons for the guys, and an introduction to actual rocket science when the girls compete to see who can build a working rocket. During these competitions, the geek must try to pass his brains onto the beauty, while the beauty tries to pull the game out of the geek. They're so far apart on the social spectrum that they're practically different species, but if they make it to the end, they could both walk away gifted and gorgeous.
p.s.: They took down the big poster on the website of Beauty & the Geek that has Ashton Kutcher buried in between some hot model's bossom and replaced it with the small banner (pictured above) with a pair of sunglasses hiding Kutcher. Should have saved that picture file yesterday!!! :P
