Lorry crashes, spilling dead pigs on road

IPOH: A lorry loaded with pigs overturned at the 285th kilometre of the North-South Expressway spilling the cargo all over the road.
Several dead pigs were strewn across the road forcing traffic to slow down at 10am yesterday.
Some pigs, which were not hurt, strayed into the undergrowth while others managed to run up to 200m away from the crash site.

Traffic policemen were seen throwing stones at the animals to try and herd them back to the lorry.

At 12.30pm, Veterinary Services Department staff led by Dr Wan Mohd Kamil Wan Nik managed to remove the animals from the road.
Lorry driver M. Jothi, 34, said he could not control the vehicle when it crashed and landed on its side.

The lorry was transporting about 70 pigs from a Gopeng farm to the Shah Alam slaughterhouse.
A check showed at least six pigs died in the accident. Posted by Hello
