Baby shower

After work on Friday, the entire IA staff went over to Marie's for a baby shower for dear Beth. This is no traditional baby shower where it is only attended by all females but, more of a everyone let's get-together, hang out with some food, games and celebrate with Beth & Bob in expecting Baby #2.

Beautiful but busy Sunday...

I usually sleep in on Sunday mornings.. but this particular morning was a little different.. woke up early - 7.30am, drove to Henrietta and surprised Peter... lazy bum was still in bed talking to me over the phone! Needless to say, Peter was thrilled... funny thing is... my surprise to him ended up as a half day spa treat for myself. I slept a lot at his place... ate, slept, talked, slept, back rubs received and more sleeping. I'm sorry for not being able to make those highly-requested brownies for you.. but we had a lot of fun yesterday morning anways! ;P

Left Henrietta about 3pm-ish... it was a beautiful day for driving, blue skies, wind blowing, high 60s.. I wanted to keep on driving - didn't want to get off the thruway. On the way back.. made a little detour and made my way up a little ways north of Buffalo. Drove over to Grand Island to see Dennis. While trying to hunt his apartment down, I saw Jennifer "Zynda" and her husband walking around enjoying the sun as much as I was.. it was nice to see her again. Like her, we last saw each other over at Mindi's wedding and I knew that she was living in Grand Island.... what a pleasant coincidence. Hung out with Dennis for a bit and headed back home.

Michele was still feeling sick.. Lori brought her to the doctor's earlier and she was prescribed a bunch of medication to help her out. So we let her rest... it was supposed to be an all girls' night out. 10 of us were supposed to head to Comixcafe... then there was 8 who went for it. Comixcafe was packed.. there were moments when I feel like laughing and moments that I just wanted to concentrate on my jalapeno-poppers. Overall it was just nice to hang out with girlfriends.. thanks Kristie for the invite!!

Came back home... was on the computer and messaged Mindi about seeing Zynda. Updates from her side, Tyler has a new brother to play with now.. congrats to Mike and Chelsea on the new baby - Rylan James (click to see baby). Mindi sent pics of Rylan... he looks sooo cute!! Awaiting more pictures from Mindi... Andy & her got a Daihatsu van. Get to the carwash faster and snap that picture!

And as you have read .. it was a busy Sunday for me... how was yours? Keep me posted!

My Saturday goes like this...

Lovely day today was.. sunny & bright.. up to the high 60s. Spent some time by Lake LaSalle (in UB's North Campus) trying to do some readings - was very calming and relaxing, thanks to a good friend who was also there, thanks matey!! Chele was at the library - called me cause she didn't feel well, so sent her home. People... wish Michele get well soon & speedy recovery!

Did not make it to ballroom dancing with Yan.. ended up at Buffalo Wild Wings and a movie - Sin City. I don't know how much most of you would like the show.. but I enjoyed most of it. Dark/somber moods, plenty of skin showing (nudity & flesh eating/killing), gorie bits sections more like it and the effort put in by the creator and director for staying as extremely faithful to the book (jump cuts and all)! Don't be left out... go catch it!!~

After the movie, a bunch of us headed to a bar for some drinks... analyzed the movie for a bit, plans of a get together with everyone in May for a big drinking night out (Ollie's the event organizer) , and reminiscing on high school days (i.e. girls schools & catholic girl schools) - wouldn't you want to know?? :P

Friends everywhere...

This evening had to be the greatest.. met some cool new friends, people from my department and others from around school and a couple of friends whom I had not seen for a few years now.

Dennis and Theresa used to live down the hall from me in my junior year, in Lehman Hall at Governors Res. Complex. Well, Dennis lived down the hall from me and Theresa was always there.. they were are the sweetest couple ever! I always happen to pass by when they were making dinner... Well, bottomline is that we swapped numbers and now we know how to get a hold of each other. Theresa's still in UB, which means chances to meet up are high and as for Dennis, he will go to see Theresa often, plus... he lives in Grand Island.. that's like 10 minutes away.

And to the rest of the guys who I was hanging out with... you guys made me laugh, and I had a lot of fun. To Chris, Pawel, Nicholi, & Ollie... we gotta do this again!~ The name game rocks and no more famous people with names starting with the letter "F" please!!

Back ONLINE!

It's official... we have connection to the electronic world once again!! And about time too might I add.. it's been a crazy 10 days of running around for internet availability. You don't know how dependent you are on it until you encounter some squirrels and slow fix-it cable guy! Michele and I have been playing tag calling Adelphia everyday.. I got them to not only take off the charges for the 10 days we had no access but the entire month for the anguish, agony and much inconvenienced they have put us through. Bottomline... we have internet again!

It was about 3 miles (I think that's what I remembered the brochure/map mentioned!) from my starting point to the bridge.. and here I am!!

Golden Gate Bridge... what a beautiful sight on a clear blue sky day!

Walked down from the aquarium to Pier 39, everyone seems to be cycling somewhere... so I joined the cycling crowd. Got a bicycle and I peddled fast and slow from pier 39, along the bay, onto the Golden Gate Bridge, crossed the bridge and peddled back to my starting point. Most people cycled past the bridge to Sausalito and take the ferry back.. due to time constraints, I had to cycle back. Amazingly, given that I only gave myself 2 hours and no more... I did accomplish it all in 2 hours. *Phew... that was my work out for the year!!

Fisherman's Wharf @ San Francisco

March 25th.. I took the Caltrain from Palo Alto to San Francisco... it was a relaxing ride. Headed straight to the Wharf to take in all the pacific ocean air and to do touristy stuff.
